The Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph reference AC01-1130-63A is a highly collectible aviation timepiece produced in a limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide. Inspired by a rare 1950s prototype developed for military use, this model combines vintage pilot aesthetics with modern mechanical innovation.
Crafted in stainless steel and measuring 42.5mm in diameter, the watch offers a balanced yet commanding wrist presence. The black dial features a classic bi-compax chronograph layout, enhanced by luminous Arabic numerals and hands for optimal legibility. The tachymeter bezel reinforces its aviation heritage while providing practical functionality. Paired with a refined leather strap, the stainless steel case maintains an elegant yet sporty profile.
At its core beats the automatic Blancpain calibre F388B, a high-frequency flyback chronograph movement operating at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour). Equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch, the calibre delivers approximately 50 hours of power reserve and ensures precise chronograph engagement. The flyback function allows instant reset and restart of the chronograph with a single push, reflecting Blancpain’s technical expertise.
