The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona "Racing", reference 116509, is one of the most visually striking and collector-coveted Daytona configurations ever produced, combining the prestige of an 18k white gold case with the iconic "Racing" dial that pays direct tribute to the motorsport heritage at the heart of the Daytona name. This certified pre-owned example from 2006 is offered in good condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted entirely in 18k white gold, the 116509 presents the Cosmograph Daytona in a beautifully resolved 40mm round case measuring just 12.4mm in height, with a tachymeter-engraved bezel in white gold and the alternating brushed and polished surfaces that give the Daytona its characteristic sporting elegance. A precious metal watch that wears its motorsport spirit with complete conviction.
The ivory "Racing" dial is the centrepiece of this reference, with three contrasting black chronograph subdials edged in vivid red, large Arabic numerals, and the word "Daytona" printed in red at 6 o'clock. A high-contrast, graphic composition that is as alive and dynamic today as it was the day it left the Rolex manufacture, and one of the most immediately recognisable Daytona dials in the collector community.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 4130, an entirely in-house automatic chronograph movement with column wheel construction and a vertical clutch, offering smooth and precise chronograph engagement and a 72-hour power reserve. One of the finest chronograph movements ever produced, by any manufacture at any price.
The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet in 18k white gold with Oysterlock safety clasp and Easylink comfort extension system, offering effortless fine adjustment of up to 5mm for the perfect fit at any time.
