The Cartier Tank Louis Cartier, reference W1529856, is the most prestigious and historically significant expression of the Tank family, named after Louis Cartier himself and as close to the original 1917 design as any watch in current production. This certified pre-owned example from 2020 is offered in excellent condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the W1529856 presents the Tank Louis Cartier in its small ladies format, with a beautifully refined rectangular case measuring 29.5 x 22mm and just 6.6mm in height, the proportions of which have remained essentially unchanged since Louis Cartier first sketched them over a century ago. Warm, luminous, and impossibly elegant on the wrist.
The silver guilloché dial is a masterpiece of the engraver's art, with a delicate hand-crafted texture that catches the light across its surface, bold Roman numerals, a railway-track minute ring, and Cartier's iconic blued-steel sword hands completing a composition that has never been improved upon because it never needed to be. A dial that is as beautiful under a loupe as it is from across the room.
Powering the watch is a reliable quartz movement, keeping the Tank Louis Cartier impossibly slim and perfectly accurate with minimal maintenance. Water resistant to 30 metres and fitted with a mineral crystal that preserves the watch's clean, classical lines.
The watch is delivered on its original leather strap with Cartier gold pin buckle, completing one of the most refined and historically loaded packages in fine watchmaking.
