The Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000, reference 116600, marked the triumphant return of the classic Sea-Dweller name to the Rolex catalogue in 2014, after years of absence, and collectors everywhere took notice immediately. This certified pre-owned example from 2014 is offered in very good condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted entirely in Oystersteel, the 116600 features a purposeful 40mm Oyster case water resistant to an extraordinary 1,220 metres, paired with a unidirectional rotatable bezel fitted with a black Cerachrom ceramic insert. More wearable than the Deepsea, more serious than the Submariner, the Sea-Dweller 4000 occupies a very sweet spot in the Rolex dive watch lineup.
The matte black dial is one of the most distinctive details of this reference, a deliberate nod to earlier Sea-Dweller generations that gives the 116600 an authenticity and depth that gloss dials simply cannot match. Large luminescent Mercedes hands and hour markers ensure exceptional legibility at any depth, above or below the surface.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 3135, a highly reliable in-house automatic movement with Parachrom hairspring offering outstanding precision and resistance to magnetic fields and shocks, and a comfortable 48-hour power reserve.
The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Glidelock extension system, allowing easy adjustment for wear over a wetsuit or simply for daily comfort.
