The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Spitfire, reference IW502702, is an impressive and technically sophisticated aviation timepiece that combines the iconic design of the Big Pilot collection with a practical annual calendar complication. Inspired by the legendary Supermarine Spitfire aircraft, this model reflects IWC’s long-standing heritage in aviation watchmaking. This certified pre-owned luxury watch is offered in very good condition and is accompanied by its original box and papers, forming a complete full set.
The watch features a substantial 46.3 mm stainless steel case, delivering the unmistakable presence and instrument-inspired aesthetic that defines the Big Pilot line. The grey dial provides a distinctive and modern appearance while maintaining excellent legibility, a fundamental characteristic of pilot’s watches. Large Arabic numerals, bold hands filled with Super-LumiNova, and a clearly defined minute track ensure optimal readability in all lighting conditions.
The dial incorporates the annual calendar complication with three apertures positioned at 12 o’clock displaying the month, date, and day of the week. This sophisticated mechanism automatically accounts for months with 30 and 31 days and requires adjustment only once per year at the end of February. A power reserve indicator and small seconds subdial further enhance the functionality and visual balance of the dial.
The watch is fitted with a high-quality leather strap that complements the robust stainless steel case while ensuring comfort on the wrist.
Powering the timepiece is the IWC-manufactured Calibre 52850 automatic movement. This advanced in-house calibre features IWC’s Pellaton winding system and delivers an impressive power reserve of approximately 7 days (168 hours), highlighting the brand’s expertise in high-performance mechanical engineering.
