The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch “Silver Snoopy Award”, reference 310.32.42.50.02.001, is the most celebrated and immediately coveted limited Speedmaster of the modern era, introduced in 2020 to mark the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Silver Snoopy Award to Omega for the role the Speedmaster played in saving the crew of Apollo 13 in April 1970. This certified pre-owned example from 2024 is offered in unworn condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in stainless steel with a black ceramic tachymeter bezel, the 310.32.42.50.02.001 presents the Speedmaster Moonwatch in its classic 42mm asymmetric case measuring 14.47mm in height, with a sapphire crystal caseback that reveals one of the most extraordinary display backs Omega has ever produced: Snoopy in his spacesuit aboard a silver rocket, animated by the chronograph mechanism so that his rocket launches the moment the chronograph is engaged, while a rotating Earth tracks the small seconds. A movement complication delivered with wit, warmth, and technical ambition in equal measure.
The silver matte dial is clean and deeply evocative, with the three chronograph subdials rendered in a vivid space blue that contrasts beautifully against the silver background, applied stick and dot hour markers, and the Snoopy motif subtly integrated into the dial design. A face that is simultaneously a tribute to NASA, a celebration of Omega’s watchmaking heritage, and one of the most instantly recognisable Speedmaster configurations ever produced.
Powering the watch is the Omega Calibre 3861, a manufacture hand-wound chronograph movement with Co-Axial escapement, METAS Master Chronometer certified, featuring a column wheel and exceptional resistance to magnetic fields exceeding 15,000 gauss. The finest movement Omega has ever fitted to the Speedmaster Professional.
The watch is delivered on its original blue fabric NATO-style strap, completing a package of extraordinary historical significance and collector appeal.
