Crafted entirely in Oystersteel, the 124270 presents the Explorer in its perfectly resolved 36mm Oyster case with solid caseback, smooth bezel, and the clean, unassuming profile that has always given the Explorer its distinctive character among Rolex’s sport watch family. Water resistant to 100 metres and sized to wear with effortless versatility on any wrist and in any context.
The black dial is as honest and purposeful as the watch itself, with the iconic Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock alongside luminescent stick hour markers and Chromalight-filled hands delivering outstanding legibility in any condition. No date, no complications, no compromises. Just time, told the Rolex Explorer way, as it has been since 1953.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 3230, a significant upgrade over the previous generation Calibre 3132, featuring a Chronergy escapement and Parachrom hairspring for exceptional precision, magnetic resistance, and a generous 70-hour power reserve. The finest movement Rolex has ever put in the Explorer.
The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet with solid end links and Oysterclasp, offering a secure and comfortable fit that is as ready for the summit as it is for the street.
