The Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea, reference 116660, is the most technically extreme watch Rolex has ever produced, introduced in 2008 as a quantum leap in dive watch engineering that redefined what a wristwatch could withstand. This certified pre-owned example from 2009 is a first-generation Deepsea, offered in very good condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in stainless steel with a titanium caseback insert, the 116660 features a formidable 44mm Oyster case measuring 17.7mm in height, housing Rolex's patented Ringlock System that allows the watch to withstand water pressure to an extraordinary 3,900 metres. The unidirectional rotatable bezel fitted with a black Cerachrom ceramic insert and the triple-locked winding crown complete a case that is as much an engineering achievement as it is a timepiece. Owning a first-year example of this reference is owning a piece of Rolex history.
The gloss black dial is deep, bold, and exceptionally legible, with large Chromalight-filled Mercedes hands and stick hour markers delivering outstanding visibility at any depth, framed by the domed sapphire crystal that echoes the vintage double-domed crystals of the legendary Sea-Dweller references of the 1960s.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 3135, a highly proven and dependable in-house automatic chronometer featuring a Parachrom hairspring for outstanding resistance to magnetic fields and shocks, and a 48-hour power reserve. The movement that powered the original Deepsea with complete conviction.
The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Glidelock extension system, offering easy adjustment for wear over a diving suit or simply for daily comfort.
