The Rolex Submariner Date "Kermit", reference 16610LV, is one of the most beloved and historically significant Submariner references ever produced, introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the collection, and instantly recognisable by its distinctive green anodised aluminium bezel insert. This certified pre-owned example from 2005 is offered in excellent condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the 16610LV features a robust 40mm Oyster case water resistant to 300 metres, paired with the iconic green unidirectional rotating bezel that earned this reference its legendary nickname among collectors worldwide. The combination of a black dial with a green bezel was unprecedented for Rolex at the time of its launch, and the watch has been a collector favourite ever since, now discontinued and increasingly sought after on the secondary market.
The gloss black dial is clean and deeply legible, with luminescent Mercedes hands and stick hour markers, a date display at 3 o'clock magnified by Rolex's signature Cyclops lens, and the classic SuperLuminova treatment that defines mid-2000s Submariner dials. Bold, purposeful, and unmistakably Rolex.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 3135, one of the most proven and reliable in-house automatic movements Rolex has ever produced, certified as a chronometer and featuring a Parachrom hairspring for outstanding resistance to magnetic fields and shocks, with a 48-hour power reserve.
The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp.
