The Vacheron Constantin American 1921, reference 82035/000R-9359, is one of the most daring designs in the Historiques collection, a faithful revival of a 1921 model built for American gentlemen who wanted to read the time at a glance while their hands stayed firmly on the steering wheel. This certified pre-owned example from 2019 is offered in excellent condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in rose gold, the 82035/000R-9359 sits in a 40mm cushion-inspired case with the crown placed at the top right, exactly where the original put it more than a century ago. Warm, elegant, and slightly rebellious, it is a certified luxury watch that refuses to sit straight, and is all the better for it.
The silver dial is the real conversation starter, rotated diagonally across the case so that the 12 o'clock position points off to the side. It is a design that looks as modern today as it must have looked radical in the Roaring Twenties, and one that is instantly recognisable to anyone who knows their watchmaking history.
Powering the watch is an in-house Vacheron Constantin movement, crafted with the finishing standards the Maison has upheld since 1755, delivering the refinement and reliability you would expect from one of the Holy Trinity of Swiss watchmaking.
The watch is presented on a leather strap, a natural partner to the rose gold case and the vintage spirit of the design.
