The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph, reference Q9028480, is the sporting soul of one of Switzerland's most storied manufactures, a watch that channels the adventurous spirit of the original 1968 Memovox Polaris into a thoroughly contemporary chronograph that is as technically accomplished as it is beautifully resolved. This certified pre-owned example from 2024 is offered in excellent condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in polished and brushed stainless steel, the Q9028480 presents the Polaris Chronograph in a commanding 42mm round case measuring 11.9mm in height, with a screw-down crown and caseback, a tachymeter scale on the outer bezel, and a sapphire crystal caseback revealing the movement within. Sporting, purposeful, and finished with the attention to detail that Jaeger-LeCoultre brings to every reference it produces.
The blue sunburst dial is the centrepiece of this reference, shifting from deep navy to a more vibrant azure depending on the light, with luminescent baton hour markers, Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, and two chronograph subdials for 30 minutes at 3 o'clock and 12 hours at 9 o'clock. A large central chronograph seconds hand completes a layout that is as legible as it is striking, and impossible to confuse with anything else on the market.
Powering the watch is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 751H, a fully in-house automatic chronograph movement with 262 components, 37 jewels, twin mainspring barrels, and a generous 65-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, and among the most accomplished in-house chronograph movements available in this category.
The watch is delivered on its original patinaed brown calfskin leather strap with deployant buckle, completing a sporting yet refined package.
